I’m sure you are all aware of the importance to clean your brushes on weekly (idealistically daily) basis to prevent infections on your skin, also help them last longer and keep them in their best shape. I’m telling you these methods are so easy, accessible and cheap that you will regret every cent you spent on cleansing products.
So all you need is a drop of soap/shampoo/diswashing liquid and warm water. Easy right? Any kind of soap is good, non-toxic of course. I use Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap. You just wash your makeup brushes in the mix, rinse it down with clean water, squeeze out the excess water, press it onto a clean towel to make sure all the water is out of them and let them dry.
The second method is an ‘on the go’ way. You can also use this mix as a household cleaner as the ingredients are disinfectants. You will need:
- empty, clean spray bottle
- 3-4 drops of tea tree essential oil or lavender
- warm water
Just mix the ingredients (water and vinegar 1:1 ratio), use a clean towel and gently massage in the excess liquid, let the brushes dry and the smell evaporate.
